Temmuz 2015 tarihleri arasında Galeri Nev İstanbul’da, “Ahenk/Vurmalı
Heykeller”
sergisi ile sanatseverler
ile buluşuyor. Heykel sanatçısı Koray Ariş, 50 yılı aşan sanat serüveninin
her aşamasında yapısal,
basit, temel ve kuvvetli heykelleri ile tanınmaktadır.
Güzel Sanatlar Akademisi
mezunu bir anne babanın oğlu olarak dünyaya gelen Koray Ariş, çocukluğunda
üç boyutlu nesneler ve ahşap
heykeller yapmaya başladı. 1963 yılında girdiği İstanbul Güzel Sanatlar
Akadamisi’nden 1968 yılında
mezun oldu. Roma Akademisinde hoca olan sanatçı Emilio Greco’nun yanında
çalışmalarına devam etti.
Roma’da 1971 yılında kendi atölyesini kurduktan bir yıl sonra ilk kişisel
sergisini açtı.
Aralarında Floransa, Belgrad
ve Budapeşte’nin de yer aldığı birçok Avrupa kentinde yapıtları sergilendi.
1975 yılında Türkiye’ye
dönen sanatçı, o tarihten beri eserlerini Ankara ve İstanbul’da
düzenli bir şekilde
sergilemektedir.

“EUPHONY/PERCUSSIVE
SCULPTURES” BY KORAY ARİŞ OPENS AT GALERİ NEV ISTANBUL
Galeri Nev Istanbul is
pleased to present “Euphony/Percussive Sculptures” by Koray Ariş.
On view from the 12th of
June until the 24th of July, the show brings together the artist’s sculptures
with a musical edge. With a
career spanning over fifty years, Koray Ariş has established his name
with structured, simple and
strong sculptures.
Koray Ariş’s interest in art
began at an early stage in his life, influenced by his parents who were both
graduates of Istanbul
National Academy of Fine Arts. Throughout his childhood, Ariş crafted 3D
objects
and wooden sculptures. In
1963, Ariş got accepted into Istanbul National Academy of Fine Arts and
graduated in 1968. Following
his graduation, he travelled to Italy and became a student of Emilio Greco,
fellow sculptor and
professor at the Fine Arts Academy of Rome. Ariş opened his first atelier in
Rome in 1971.
A year later, he held his
first solo exhibition. His works have been showcased in many European cities,
such as Florence, Belgrade
and Budapest. Ariş returned to his home country Turkey in 1975,
where he has been holding
regular exhibitions in both Istanbul and Ankara.
