“Detay” sergisi sekiz
sanatçının kaçırdığımız, kaçırmak istediğimiz, görmezden geldiğimiz,
göremediğimizi düşündüğümüz tüm
detaylara farklı açılardan
yaklaştıkları bir incelemedir. Detayı bir teknik olarak da ele alabilen bu
sanatçılar, izleyicileri görünenin
ötesine çağıran işler
üreterek, günümüz sanatında eser ile izleyici arasındaki mesafeyi kapatmaya
çalışıyorlar. Detay sergisi daha
çok üretim sürecinin
kendisine yoğunlaşan, farklı teknikler kullanan bu sekiz sanatçının ele
aldıkları detayları inceleme biçimlerine
de odaklanıyor. Bu sayede
her bir sanatçının kendi “detay” yorumları da serginin ana hattını oluşturuyor.
Detay, bir kafa haritasını ve bir cetveli gerekli
kılar. Tıpkı bir kaç yüz bin galaksinin yüz metreye altmış beş milimetre bile
olmayan bir açıklıktan görüntülendiği bir Hubble derin
uzay fotoğrafı gibi. Burak Dikilitaş
‘Detay’ ölçeksizdir. Gözlemci ve gözlenen arasındaki
mesafe, detayın anlamını değiştirir ve detayı sorgulatır. Mikroskoptan
bakılan ile teleskoptan bakılan her iki durum da
detayı tanımlar. Makro ölçekte uydu görüntüleri yeryüzündeki imgeleri gözlemci
için detaya dönüştürür; mikro-makro dünya, algı olarak
benzer noktadan okunur. Detayın anlamı yakınlık-uzaklık ilişkisi üzerinden
tarif edilebilir mi? Gözlemcinin imgeye arasındaki
mesafeye göre kurduğu ilişki sorgulanabilir mi? Buşra

“Detail” exhibition is an
investigation of eight artists with different standpoints, who approach details
that we miss out on, overlook,
ignore, and think we can’t
perceive. The artists, that can further regard the detail as a technique, aim
to close the contemporary
gap between the piece of art
and the viewer by creating works that invite the viewer beyond the visible. The
exhibition focuses on
the way in which these eight
artists that use different techniques examine the details they incorporate to
their works, while
concurrently centering on
the process of production. Thus, artists’ own commentaries on the “detail”
outlines the exhibition itself.
Detail makes a mental map and a ruler necessary.
Exactly like a Hubble deep space photograph, in which several thousand
galaxies are displayed through a gap smaller than
hundred meters to sixty-five millimeters… Burak

‘Detail’ has no scale. The distance between the
observer and the observed changes the meaning of the detail and urges it to be
questioned. What can be viewed through a microscope
and a telescope both define the detail. In the macro-scale, satellite
images transform scenes on earth into details;
perception-wise, micro/macro world is read from the same standpoint. Can the
meaning of the detail be defined through a
relationship of near and far? Can the relationship the viewer established with
the
image through distance be questioned?
